Writing Term 4
DiDi made a goal (which is highlighted in pink on the writing code) of starting each of his sentences with different words. He has decided he has achieved, full stops, finger spaces, initial sounds and lots of sounds in his words. DiDi thinks he still needs to consolidate his capital letters.
Art

Integrated Topic Drought
We are learning about how the sun affects the earth.
Success Criteria:
- Explain water moves in a cycle.
- Explain how drought affects living things and our planet.
My Reading Pathway
I am pointing to where I am on the room 17 reading pathway.
I am currently reading at green three (green one is the government expectation for a child who has been at school for a year).
I have lots of success criteria's, these are some of them (the rest can be found on my classroom walls):
- I know when I have made a mistake when I read and I can fix it by:
- rereading/rerunning
- reading on
- thinking about what makes sense.
- I can work out words I don't know yet by using my growing knowledge of letter-sound relationships.
- I can use different strategies to help me understand what I am reading. I can talk to others about what I am reading.

Numeracy strand: fractions

I am learning to look across the word to look for letters and letter clusters I know.
SUCESS CRITERIA I can look along the whole word and find some parts that I know.

Reading
I can read to lots of different people.
DiDi is reading to one of our big buddies as a part of our Friday programme and gardening, cooking and literacy.
Topic: Habitat
We are learning to make a habitat for a compost worm.
On our field trip we learned to importance of food, shelter, water and stopping sunlight from going into our compost worms habitats.
Zach and DiDi are getting up close and personal with their new worms for their habitat.
Action Stations
I am learning to follow instructions with instructional drawing during action stations.
